In most instances, interpreting involves one person interpreting for two people who do not share a common language. The use of interpreters is commonplace in the courts, the medical field, on guided tours, etc. These environments allow for uncomplicated communications between the interpreter and the people who need interpreting.

However, some situations are more demanding. Imagine the scenario where an audience of 100 people have come to hear a speaker who speaks English. A good many of the people in the audience understand English, but most do not. To further complicate matters, the non-English speaking audience members only speak one of three different languages- Armenian, Georgian or French.
For many agencies, such a situation would present an impossible task. At CSN Caucasus, we are well-equipped to handle such a situation. A Simultaneous Interpretation system is almost indispensable for successful international conferences where multiple languages are used. In order to enable all participants to understand the proceedings, interpreters simultaneously translate the speaker's language as required. These interpretations are then distributed throughout the conference venue and delegates can select the language of their choice and listen to it through headphones.

FOUNDERS

Founders of the Company actively involved in the running of business are Ms. Mara TSAKADZE, Mr. Merab STURUA and Mr. Kar OUZOUNIAN.

Merab STURUA is the General Director of CSN Caucasus. Apart from a university degree in physics from Tbilisi State University and years of experience in research institutes of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, he completed the MBA Course with ESM Tbilisi and is a professional in the finance and administration fields.

Mara TSAKADZE is responsible for provision of seamless interpretation and translation services on behalf of the Company. She herself is a highly reputable conference interpreter with 20 years of experience in simultaneous interpreting. Her work record includes provision of simultaneous interpretation services at about 400 international events held in Georgia, UK, US, France (CoE), Germany, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Turkey and other countries. Mara Tsakadze works extensively with such organizations as the Council of Europe, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNDP, IOM, ICMPD, OECD, OSCE, EC Delegation to Georgia, LINKS London, ECMI, GFSIS, the Public Defender's Office in Georgia, and others. For many of them she is the first port of call whenever they need English-Russian-Georgian conference interpreting or translation services. Mara Tsakadze is on the list of accredited interpreters of the Council of Europe.

Ken (Karen) OUZOUNIAN - has a successful record in project implementation. To mention just a few of the projects: "Assistance to the Anti-Corruption Promotion Group" sponsored and run by UNDP; the project carried with OSI Constitutional and Legal Policy Institute; setting up and running the "Georgia's First Virtual Art and Culture Gallery"; setting up and running "Bohemian Almanac" - an online magazine of prose and poetry.

They are graduates of professional conference interpretation schools, and have extensive work experience, including at the highest levels.

Notably, most of our interpreters are on the list of accredited interpreters of the Council of Europe.
